Sensor Installation Guide

Follow these simple steps to install your water pressure sensor

1

Match the sensor to the pipeline

  • Buy a T-Join / Tee fitting and a reducing bush that matches your pipeline size. Refer to the Fittings section for compatible fittings.
2

Login and Add Sensor

3

At home, power on the sensor

  • Remove the pull tab that states "Remove to power on sensor"
  • The sensor will automatically connect to the One NZ NB-IoT network
  • Wait a few minutes for the first reading to transmit
  • Check the dashboard to confirm the last received time
  • If you are not using the device for more than a week, then you can replace the tab to turn the device off
4

Choose a location for the sensor

  • If you can, mount the sensor close to where water enters your tank. This gives a good reading of tank feed pressure.
  • If it's not possible to mount near the tank, connecting anywhere along the water line is acceptable.
  • If the tank is in a gully or depression, consider placing the sensor higher up the water line for more sun and better signal
  • Preferably point the solar panel facing north and as high as the cable allows
  • Place within One NZ NB-IoT network coverage. Note that signal strength can be worse OR better than the coverage maps show
5

Install the sensor onto the pipeline

Connect the sensor to your water system using the T-join fitting:

  • Turn off the water supply before installation
  • Important: Mount the sensor first! Check the cable length!
  • Install the T-join at an appropriate point in your water line
  • Connect the sensor to the T-join securely
  • Check for leaks before turning water back on
  • Tip: You can run a pipe one way to the sensor if there is no suitable sensor location near the T-Join
6

After a couple of days, configure alerts

Set up your monitoring preferences:

  • Add a mobile number to your account
  • Set up pressure and time thresholds on the sensor
